Weekend Round-up - Items That Caught My Interest During Week of 8/8/21

Our confession: Lord, You have placed within me a hunger for truth (2 Thess. 2:10). The truth sets me free (Jn. 8:32).  I fear God, love truth, hate dishonest gain, and will lead in the area You assign to me (Ex. 18:21).

We have been waiting for God to pour out and He has been waiting for the Church to rise up!

The excuse that neither God nor governments will accept…

“I was just following orders so I am not guilty of the actions I took.”

Those convicted at the Nuremburg trials tried this excuse for murdering people. It was rejected and they were put to death for the acts they committed.

Those committing atrocities today are using the same excuse and ultimately they will face God for their actions.

The threats...

I along with many others have had to decide if we would honor the convictions of our conscience or give up our convictions because it would cost us too much:

  1. You will be removed from Facebook, YouTube, Twitter if you express a belief contrary to what our company believes.
  2. You MUST have “the shot” if you want to attend this university or work at this job or eat at this restaurant.
  3. You cannot work as a pastor in our denomination if you speak in tongues.
  4. You cannot be ordained in our denomination unless you believe that tongues speaking is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  5. You cannot be ordained in our denomination unless you renounce any belief in God speaking through dreams.
  6. You cannot attend this university unless you promise not to speak in tongues while here.
  7. "Your manuscript contains direct discourse spoken by persons of the Trinity, angels, or demons. It is our belief that the only acceptable discourse by persons of the Trinity, angels, or demons that may appear in a manuscript are those that appear in and have been accurately quoted from the Bible.” So do I let this company publish my book, or do I self-publish and get my book listed here with 60 other books which inspire others to hear God's voice directly in their hearts?

Yes, I could go on and on. The question is, “Will I honor and obey my conscience or will I give in because it costs me too much?"

God will care for you if you step out from under unjust laws

I have given up several jobs because I was told to do things contrary to my conscience. (Several of the items in the list above are from my life.) The wonderful truth is, God has always been faithful to lead me to ever greener pastures! He will do the same for YOU!

God says there will come a day when each will stand before God in judgment: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Cor. 5:10). "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME…" So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God (Rom. 14:11-12).

They will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead… Be of sound judgment and sober spiritfor the purpose of prayer. Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Pet. 4:5-11)

At the conclusion of this week's update, I provide verses on living according to your conscience, so you can refresh yourself as to what the Lord has spoken on this topic.

Do you want to participate in helping me develop a blog?

The title is: “Healing Emotional Trauma Is Foundational to Restoring Health.” I am looking for stories that demonstrate this truth. If you feel you have a personal testimony, let me know and I will send you the blog and suggestions for writing up your testimony. If you are battling with infirmity and want to read the blog now, which has in it a list of journaling questions to ask the Lord, email me at [email protected] and I will email you the blog with the questions. Thanks
